"How to Get Involved in Grassroots Activities at the State Level" by John Gallagher (VGM)
Strengthen our relationship with the Tennessee General Assembly by overcoming challenges with their limited session time and how serving as a representative is not their "main job".  ATHOMES may not have a member in each district, but you can still make an impact with local offices across the state.  In this session, we will focus on strengthening our relationships locally to match the efforts Tennessee suppliers have made on the national level.  We will also highlight some other activities occurring in other states that could affect Tennessee suppliers in the future.

"Health Care Reform Hits Home" by Chris Clarke (Tennessee Hospital Association)
The Affordable Care Act and the related reforms to payment models and service delivery are forcing health care providers to change business models at a rapid pace.  Value-based purchasing based on lower costs, better quality outcomes, and patient-centric care are the wave of the future.  Now more than ever, all health care providers must focus on population health and the full continuum of care delivery rather than episodic, fragmented interaction with the health care delivery system.  The changes in the delivery system and payment models will be discussed as well as examples of new innovations and partnerships among providers in order to thrive in the future.

"2015 Tennessee Sales Tax Update" by Sherry Hathaway (Tennessee Department of Revenue)
Tennessee participates in the Streamline Sales and Use Tax Agreement that provides a framework that many states operate under for defining how and what items are taxable in the state.  Learn about what qualifies as taxable and tax exempt items for durable medical equipment, supplies, mobility-enhancing equipment, repair and replacements, and more!  This is always a hot button topic for suppliers as we get into the details and nuances of the tax requirements affecting the HME Industry.

"2015 Employment Law Update & Creating Non-Competes" by Maury Nicely (Evans, Harrison, & Hackett)
2014 was a busy year for employers with a host of new regulations and changing interpretations of laws that could create exposure for the unwary employer.  This rapid change is continuing as we make our way through 2015 as well.  This session will get you up to speed on those changes and developments coming in the near future.  In addition to this review of recent developments, we will also discuss best practices for the use of non-compete and non-solicitation agreements in the state of Tennessee.

"How to Hire & Keep the Best Employees" by Richard Davis (McClain Group)
Have you ever hired someone whose best performance was in the interview?  Do your best performers leave while your substandard employees stay?  Do you just hire the best warm body that comes in the door?  Creating a talent management strategy to find, hire, and keep the best employees is crucial for long-term business success.  Regardless of the size of your business, easy to implement  processes can be created to increase the chances of hiring the best employee.  In this session, you will gain an understanding of why employees leave, learn ways to "connect" with all team members, learn the keys to keeping the good employees, and learn how to create a strategy for long-term success in talent management.

This is a pilot session group lead open discussion for current and prospect Brightree users to learn from each other, ask questions, and troubleshoot common issues.  This is not lead by Brightree employees but instead viewed as a community-driven way for suppliers to engage and learn from industry colleagues on using Brightree.  We encourage you to have prewritten topics to bring to the session so that you get the most out of this meeting time.  ATHOMES will evaluate the benefits and success of this session and may offer sessions for other billing software in future events.
